- CSF Executive Board Meeting Updates:
- CSF Fall 2025 Exec Notes
- This past Friday CSF held the executive board meeting. There was a discussion regarding the cohort based tuition model.
- Every year tuition is based on the year that you enter and the amount is set for a student’s term they are enrolled.
- At the November Regent’s meeting, an increase of 5% is being proposed to connect the increase to the HDPI (Higher Education Inflationary Index); the reason is that this index is more aligned with the actual costs of education. There would be a 1% increase each year.

- Reached out to Travis regarding moving from an opinion statement to a pro/con statement for the ballot.

- Attended CSF executive board meeting
- Worked on brainstorming proposal language for SFAC pro/con statements
- Setting up meeting with VCSAS Akirah
- Vir asks about Marshall’s favorite thing about SFAC; Marshall responds that it’s travel for CSF.
- Sofia asks about how the role fits into Marshall’s goals and future goals. Marshall says that writing, policy writing, speaking with upper admin.
- Arielle asks who Marshall interacts with in administration; Marshall says that it’s mostly DSAS because that’s where SSF goes but there will be some time to speak to folks outside of DSAS.

- Mel’s favorite part of the role is these meetings and the annual funding call.
- Mel says that she is very interested in educational policy; she enjoys talking about where funding goes. Mel is also the Treasurer for Merrill Student Government so there are intersections.

- Student Fee Summit
- Mel reminds the group that a few weeks ago we talked about the possibility of a Cornucopia-like event to focus on student fees.
- The purpose is to educate students on where their fees are going.
- This would be a fun and inclusive event.
- Spring quarter would be the target - Week 3 or 4.
- We will discuss this further at the Outreach Meeting
- We could have performances with student groups. We could do this at the Quarry Amphitheater or the Plaza.
- The outreach committee will be focused on this for discussion.
- Lucy suggests that we could ask for co-sponsorship from groups that receive referendum since this is an educational event.
