  1. Nareh shares that things are going well at SCOC; they are appointing students to committees. Next week there will be an event where students who are serving on committees can come together and share updates. Everyone will receive an invitation.

  2. Marshall explains that the last few meetings have been difficult in terms of our ability to reach quorum. Marshall has drafted some Bylaw changes for the group to review regarding voting by proxy.
  3. Strawpoll for recommendation on whether to amendment the policy
    1. 1 - vote to leave as is
    2. 4 - votes to vote by proxy
    3. We will bring final edits to the group to discuss next week.
Appeals Process - Appeal Form
1. Newly adopted appeals policy
2. Subcommittee formation - who would like to serve on the subcommittee to review appeals?
3. Add to the “what are you appealing question” incomplete application (instead of anything else)
4. Lucy will send this out today, asking folks to vote by Thursday at 5:00 pm.
Preparation for March 4th Meeting - TAPS presentation
1. Marshall explains that Director Dan Henderson from TAPS will come to present on Measure 73; per the referendum language, TAPS presents to SFAC annually about their usage, utilization, budget, etc.
2. Marshall suggests we accept questions via private chat to the meeting facilitator.
3. Cheryl asks whether we should share this information with the College Senate? Marshall says that’s fine and to remember that we represent the college so meant for everyone.
4. Lucy says we can create a Google form so people can submit questions in advance, and post the information on SFAC’s website.

    6. It appears that they don’t have a permanent budget
    7. A suggestion is made to table the discussion while we collect more information.
    8. Lucy will contact the author and ask for responses to the following questions:
      1. What is their current carry forward attributed to?
      2. Any restrictions on their funding pools?
      3. Current expenses - monthly?

    2. Feedback - Marshall suggests half the food so they can provide one meal to 200
    3. Trey suggests a portion of the shirts, maybe 50 shirts.
    4. Marshall suggests 75 shirts. Half of the prizes as well and the entire best overall prize…for a total of $6,630.
  8. 1. Year-Round Housing Program for Resilient Scholars
    2. The authors did not use SFACs budget template. Add a note to the notification letter to please use SFAC’s budget template next time.
    3. STARRS has no other funds available for this expense.
    4. How are the number of applicants determined? How does summer calculate for students who are going to summer school - how does that impact costs?
    5. Funding for 1 student in all categories would be $4,152. Marshall suggests funding $16,000. Trey suggests we meet priority 1 goals, or portions of it. The first priority is $50,000, and we would need to issue in $2500 increments.
    6. Motion to earmark $16,608 - four students in all categories.
  9. 33 - MOCHA.
    1. 60 people for the Boardwalk, bowling @ $1000 each, this seems a little high for an outing?
    2. Marshall suggests half the programming costs.
